Jiroku

Created by Timea Hötzinger, Sebastian Stuhlberger and Marco Venditto as an MMP2b project at FH Salzburg.

Jiroku is a 2D Jump&Run in which the player has to switch gravity to their needs, in order to progress through the map without touching any of the red blocks. This can come difficult at times, as gravity can only be switched once while off the ground.

The game combines Jump&Run gameplay with the inherent puzzle-aspect of alterable gravity, challenging players to figure out their own paths through each passage. It creates interesting moments of contemplation on how to even approach an upcoming jump and makes players think in different and novel ways about moving around in a 2D space.
